Adventures in Dubai: Day 3 Dubai Nightlife

Dubai is infamous for its expansive structures and over the top exuberance, but I don’t know if bar crawling is at the top of most people’s list of what to do in Dubai! Certainly I didn’t think of visiting the city for its party scene, but we figured we couldn’t leave without checking out the Dubai nightlife.

Day 3 saw us sleeping in after a long day on the East Coast of the UAE. On Wednesday we lounged at the chilled hotel pool while waiting for an exciting time on the town.

When you have to chill a pool, it’s really hot out!

Being pretty close to the airport, we were reminded of just how well traveled a hub Dubai is. Emirates planes pretty much took off every few minutes into the hazy skies.

We took a cab to meet our “chaperone” at the lovely Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Dubai is beautiful during the day but night is when the beauty of the city really shines and sparkles.

This is where the night starts!

We were a bit early so we spent time taking pics with some colorful camels on the property.

I was in love with this camel!

Outside was busy. Lots of people randomly sitting on the lawn.

We then met up with our guide for what was supposed to be a group trip. After cancellations, it ended up being just us. Apparently Wednesday night is ladies night in Dubai with free flowing champagne for the ladies all night.

Burj Al Arab. So close yet so far!

We spent some time at the outdoor bar area overlooking the lights of the Burj Al Arab.

Even closer! On the waterfront outside the Burj al Arab.

After some time, we headed off to some other clubs at Dubai Marina. I don’t remember all our stops, but at each one there were a lot of people there for it being a Wednesday night!

We met expats who were out just having a good time after work. The atmosphere was relaxed and if you blinked might think you were at any club in Manhattan, save for the sweltering heat each time we stepped outside.

We ended the night at NDulge Club at Atlantis at the Palms. The music was great, the deejay even spun quite a few Jamaican tunes! We kept trying to leave since our hotel was quite a distance away in Old Dubai. Each time we kept hearing music that drew us back! Eventually we pulled ourselves away as we were so tired and still had quite a day ahead of us on Thursday.

The night was a pretty good synopsis of what the city has to offer. Besides all the traffic to get from one spot to the next, we had a great time!

Stick around for the next installment which features a dune bashing desert safari and dinner under the desert skies while swaying to hypnotic belly dancers!
